It is the responsibility of the Flood Warden Richard Hunt, to oversee the completion and updating of the Sedgeberrow Flood Plan and to ensure that the plan is regularly reviewed and updated. In order to achieve this, Richard ensures that all Flood Group members are engaged in the planning and response processes and any tasks are delegated to those on the team with specific skills as appropriate.
Richard reports back to the Parish Council quarterly and acts as the communication link with all other external agencies such as the Environment Agency, Wychavon District Council and the Emergency Services.
In the event of a flood the Flood Warden will contact to Deputy Flood Warden and act as a co-ordinator and focal point for the Community and the Emergency Services in the flooded areas.
It is the responsibility of the Deputy Flood Warden to support the Flood Warden in carrying out his role. They also ensure if the Flood Warden is away from the village for a period of time they take over any specific duties in his absence to ensure continuity.
In the event of a flood the Deputy Flood Warden will setup the emergency centre located at the village hall, contact other Flood Group members and volunteers as required and act as the co-ordinator and focal point for the Community, Emergency Services and Wychavon District Council at the emergency centre.
The other Flood Group members all reside in the Community and have good local knowledge of Sedgeberrow. They are responsible for ensuring familiarity with the Sedgeberrow Flood Plan and any specialist tasks required and to support the Flood Warden and Deputy Flood Warden in carrying out their roles. In the event of a flood the Flood Group members will undertake specific tasks as directed by the Flood Warden, Deputy Flood Warden and Emergency Services.
